Can not send email to hotmail

Hotmail has some messed up spam filters. A lot of email just never arrives, but doesn't bounce. Follow these steps to solve this problem.

Forward and Reverse DNS

Make sure the server has both forward and reverse dns, and that they match. For instance take the hostname of the server. Say its 

poke.trouble-free.net

Ping poke.trouble-free.net and get the IP address. Then do an nslookup on the IP and make sure it points back to poke.trouble-free.net. If not, you could have email delivery issues to hotmail.

So, what we have learned is 

* Make sure there is a reverse dns
* If so, make sure the reverse dns hostname and hostname point to the same IP
